Welcome to Dan River Campground.  We have been entertaining tent and rv campers in a family atmosphere for 17 years.  We are a small family owned and operated campground located in a quiet area on the Dan River.   Glenn and Charlotte Bozorth are your hosts.

In 1993 we began river trips with 2 canoes, 6 float tubes and a pickup truck.  Today we have more than  20 canoes and kayaks and over 100 float tubes and a seperate entity called Dan River Adventures.

We have 20 sites that have water, electric and sewer hookup.  There are 18 sites with water and electric hookup that are available for tent and rv camping.  Four sites are tent only with no hookups and offer more privacy.  There is a bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets.
Each site has a picnic table or a convertable.  Many sites have a fire ring excluding some of the rv only sites.  Marked trails make a loop around the park and for over a mile you see views of the woods, river and Sharp's creek.  Walk quietly and you will be able to sneak up on the abundant wild life including otter, beaver, turkey, deer, ground hogs and herons.  Along the way you will pass the canoe access and can stop at our prayer garden for some quiet time (prayer encouraged).   Our bass pond has been damaged over time by flooding and does not always have good water levels.  There are fish in the pond and you can do some catch and release fishing there.  There are a variety of fish species in the river for those who can wade in or navigate the sometimes steep bank.  Canoe, kayak and tubing trips leave from the park or if you have your own boat, the access is available to campers at no charge.  We have a 20 x 40 flat bottom pool that is 4 feet deep and open Memorial Day to Labor Day.  You can play basketball, volleyball, frisbee and ping pong or throw horseshoes at the park.  If you bring your satellite dish please ask for a site that can see the satellite.  Most sites receive network tv on your antenna.  WiFi is available at no charge with the daily camping rate.  Please ask for the password.

You can bring your pets to the campground.  Rotweilers and pit bull are not allowed and if you know your pet to be in any way unfriendly to anybody- please leave it at home.  Pets must be on a leash everywhere in the park and when your dog poops you are expected to scoop.   Pets may not be left unattended.

We have a very modest store with no groceries available.  Ice, firewood, propane and some camping supplies are available.  We fill propane tanks including built in tanks on motor homes and fork lift tanks.  Super Walmart is 3.5 miles from the park.
