ABOUT DAN RIVER CAMPGROUND

The Dan River Campground is a beautiful, well-kept campground. We have 29 RV sites that have full hook-ups (water, electric and sewer), 10 RV sites with partial hookups (water and electric, no sewer), 3 tent sites with partial hookups (water and electric, no sewer) and 5 primitive tent sites (no water, electric or sewer) that offer more privacy. There is a bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets. Inside each men’s and women’s bathroom is a washer and dryer for your laundry needs.

Our River Adventure offers tubing, canoeing and kayaking activities on the Dan River. Reserve your day for some fun on the river! All river adventures include a personal flotation device (PFD), if needed, and shuttle ride to the public river access area. All river adventures end at the Dan River Adventure private river access located on the Dan River Campground property.

We are less than an hour from Triad cities, Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem. It is also a short drive from Virginia cities; Martinsville and Danville. The campground has easy access from State Road 220. Daily, weekly and monthly camping is available.

Pets

Bringing pets to the campground is a privilege extended to pet owners here at the Dan River Campground. We know pets are part of the family! However, you will be required to sign our pet waiver, and we do have a two pet limit.

Pets must be quiet and kept on a leash everywhere in the park, and when your dog poops, you are expected to scoop.

Please do not leave your pet unattended, even if on a leash. Nobody wants to be left out of the fun!

CAMPGROUND

Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Marked trails make a loop around the campground and for over a mile you see views of the woods, Dan River and Sharp’s Creek. Walk quietly and you will be able to sneak up on the abundant wild life including otter, beaver, turkey, deer, ground hogs and herons. Along the way you will pass the private river access. There are fish in the pond and you can do some catch and release fishing. There are a variety of fish species in the river for those who can wade in or navigate the sometimes steep bank. Canoe, kayak and tubing trips leave from the campground or if you have your own boat/vessel, the access is available to campers at no charge. We have a 20 x 40 flat bottom pool that is 4 feet deep and open Memorial Day to Labor Day. You can play volleyball, frisbee, ping pong, cornhole and horseshoes. Satellite TV; most sites do not have a clear view of the sky from the campground. You will have limited reception from most sites. Most sites receive free broadcast TV if you have a HD antenna. WiFi is available at no charge with the daily camping rate. Please ask for the password.
