Begin A River Adventure Reservation Here!
(Please View The “Tubes” Page Before Making A Reservation)
Note: Please read this entire section as well as the Dan River Adventures tab(s) to answer most, if not, all of your questions about our services and options, then fill out the reservation form on this page and submit.
COVID-19 Update: We are not requiring face masks to be worn on our shuttle buses this season. Wearing a face mask is optional.
In order to keep things running smoothly, everyone must make a river adventure reservation by using our reservation form on this page. We will contact you after we receive your reservation request.
To effectively manage the river adventure bookings, we try to keep phone calls to a minimum because most calls are questions that can be answered by looking through our River Adventure web pages. If you need to contact us, please email us. If you need to call, please leave a detailed message (note – a detailed massage is not just a name & phone number).
Age Limit – Our age limit for tubing is 5 years old and up. This is mainly a safety issue for younger children. River flooding has been more frequent the last few years which leaves a lot of debris in the river and along the banks. In addition, when the river is running fast, it more difficult to avoid debris in the water or get out of the river.
Coolers / Food / Alcohol
We ARE NOT floating hard-sided medium & large coolers any longer. We are allowing small individual soft-sided lunch bags/dry bags ONLY so that each person has their drinks and snacks with them on their tube. While Rockingham County does allow alcohol on the river, we, as a business providing a service, reserve the right to limit the amount of alcohol you can bring on a river adventure. We ask that you use common sense when bringing alcoholic beverages. The sun will magnify the effects of alcohol and impair your ability to safely navigate and get out of the river. People who bring alcohol, usually bring 3 or 4 beverages per person. Open containers are not allowed on Dan River Adventures property or on the shuttle buses. You have to be on the river before alcoholic beverages can be opened.
River adventures are offered Friday through Sunday. Saturdays and Sundays get booked up the quickest. It is recommended to book at least 2 or 3 weeks in advance of your preferred river adventure date. We require reservations for all river adventures (tubing).
Your reservation will require a credit card payment; parties of 5 or less, must be paid in full. Parties of 6 or more require a 50% deposit. Parties of 6 or more need to coordinate and have one credit card payment to pay the balance when you arrive.
Large groups of 15 people or more qualify for a 10% discount.
If, after going thru our river adventure web pages and you still have questions, send us an email at: email@example.com
- Note – not all tubes may be available. The double river tube is very popular and we only have a limited number of them. In addition, we can only shuttle a limited number of double tubes per each trip.
- Your river adventure reservation IS NOT complete until we call and speak with you and get your credit card information. Simply submitting the reservation form does not secure you a reservation.

Due to the nature of the Dan River in this area, it is almost impossible to stop on or along the river or river banks. The current is slow but very strong. If you are in the water, you will get carried along by the current so all day tubing adventures or extended float times are not available through Dan River Adventures.
In addition, the river bank(s) in this area are not state parks or public land, almost the entire river bank is private property between the 704 Bridge and Dan River Campground and River Adventures property.
